This savoury slice is a great base recipe for adding whatever flavours you and the kids like! An easy addition to the lunch box.
Ingredients
- 1 onion diced
- 3 bacon rashers diced
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 5 egg
- 1 cup cheese grated
- 1 1/2 cup zucchini grated unpeeled
- 1 cup carrot grated
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
- 1 tbs Butter
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 150C. Dice onion and bacon.

Step 2Fry onion and bacon until onion is clear and bacon is cooked but not crispy.

Step 3Sift flour into a bowl, add eggs and rest of the ingredients. Stir until combined. Pour into a greased 6 cup capacity dish.

Step 4Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until an inserted skewer comes out clean.
Recipe Notes
You can add many more vegetables like diced tomatoes (seeds and juice removed) and corn. Omit the bacon if vegetarian.
