Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 tbs baking powder
  • 4 tbs sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbs vanilla essence
  • 4 tbs butter melted
  • 2 tbs marshmallows *to decorate
  • 1 tbs choc chips *to decorate
  • 1 chocolate sauce *to decorate
  • 1 knob butter *extra for frying

Method

  • Step 1
    Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, cocoa and salt together in a big bowl.
  • Step 2
    In a smaller bowl, mix together milk, eggs and vanilla.
  • Step 3
    Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix gently until just combined.
  • Step 4
    Add the melted butter and mix until just incorporated.
  • Step 5
    Melt a couple teaspoons butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Step 6
    Pour about a ¼ cup of pancake batter into the pan for each pancake.
  • Step 7
    Cook until you see little bubbles forming in the batter then flip them and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Decorate with marshmallows, chocolate chips, plus your choice of chocolate sauce, cream or syrup.
Recipe Notes

Use extra butter to fry pancakes.
