An easy, hearty meal for those cold winter nights. This recipe is perfect for a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef steak, diced
  • 4 potatoes diced
  • 4 carrots diced
  • 40 g French onion instant soup
  • 1 1/2 tsp beef stock (powder)
  • 2 x 440 g canned diced tomato
  • 2 tsp garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 celery sticks chopped
  • 1/2 tsp all purpose seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste

Method

  • Step 1
    Brown meat and place it with all other ingredients into a slow cooker.

  • Step 2
    Cook on low for approximately 6-8 hours.
  • Step 3
    Add a little water and cornflour to thicken if needed.
  • Step 4
    Serve with crusty bread.
