Ingredients

  • 125 g margarine
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 3 tbs custard powder
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 180C and grease a loaf pan.
  • Step 2
    Melt margarine, put in large bowl, add all other ingredients and beat for 3 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Pour mixture into prepared pan.
  • Step 4
    Bake in oven for 45 minutes or until skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.

Equipment

  • 1 loaf pan
Recipe Notes

You can ice this cake, just make a standard icing mixture and add custard powder.
