An Australian traditional biscuit dedicated in honour of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
Ingredients
- 180 g butter
- 45 g golden syrup
- 225 g sugar
- 225 g plain flour
- 45 g desiccated coconut
- 115 g rolled oats
- 90 g mixed nuts crushed
- 45 ml hot water
- 3 g bicarbonate of soda
Method

Step 1Mix dry ingredients (not bicarbonate of soda), in bowl.

Step 2Melt golden syrup and butter and add to dry ingredients. Mix until combined.

Step 3Mix together bicarbonate of soda and hot water and add to mix. Mix quickly until just clear.

Step 4Roll into a sausage and cut off to desired size. Place on baking trays and bake at 180C for approximately 18 minutes.

These biscuits will spread quite a bit, keep this in mind when you are putting them on a tray.
