When it comes to our favourite childhood sweets, Allen’s Freckles has to be up there.

Creamy milk chocolate buttons combined with crunchy and colourful 100s & 1000s – it’s just so simple yet so delicious, no wonder we loved them as kids AND we love them as adults!

Now, Allen’s has launched a Giant version of their beloved Freckles that’s perfect for the upcoming festive season.

Allen’s Giant Festive Freckles: what we know

It’s the flavour and look of Freckles we know and love, but with a Giant Festive twist.

Allen’s Giant Festive Freckles consists of a creamy chocolate button coated with red, white and green 100s & 1000s, making it the perfect Christmas treat.

Instead of the coin-sized treats that we’re used to, the new Allen’s Giant Festive Freckle is one giant 40g Freckle.

Sounds like the best stocking stuffer ever!

Where can I purchase Allen’s Giant Festive Freckles?

This festive-as Freckle can be bought from Woolies for RRP $3.70.

We know Christmas is still a little while away, but Allen’s has absolutely put us in the mood to put up the tree and pour the eggnog a little bit earlier…

Consider yourself a Freckles fanatic? Try our choc-top ‘Freckle’ cookies

We’ve taken the beloved Freckles and turned them into these must-make cookies that are perfect for school holiday baking.

These cookies start with a rich chocolate biscuit that’s topped with a layer of dark chocolate (you can use milk chocolate if dark is too bitter for the kids) after the biscuits have baked.

The biscuits are then dipped into 100s and 1000s while the chocolate is still wet… because it can’t be a ‘Freckle’ cookie without the 100s and 1000s!

Freckles are trending right now

Our friends over at taste.com.au recently created a new viral version of the old-school freckle using another Aussie icon: the Jatz cracker.

They baked individual chocolate buttons in a tray of loose 100s and 1000s until the button melted, then pressed a Jatz cracker into each. Hey presto, meet the Jatz ‘freckle’

Rumour has it they’re working on new versions, so we wait with baited breath.
