Using condensed milk, a packet of biscuits and not much more, you can quickly whip at a scrummy caramel slice for treats and lunch boxes. No baking needed or long refrigeration times, this slice will become your treat on repeat!
How to make an easy no-bake caramel slice: key tips
To crush the biscuits for this slice, it’s best to use a food processor to blitz them to coarse crumbs. You can also place the biscuits in a freezer bag and then bash the bag with a rolling pin – this is what I do, as it saves on washing up!
Microwave the remaining ingredients until just hot and bubbling. Keep an eye on the mixture, checking it every 30 seconds, as you won’t want it boiling like crazy and making a mess of your microwave.
Press the biscuit mixture into a slice pan, then use a straight-sided glass to press the mixture down and smooth the surface. The slice will harden as it cools, then you can slice it into squares. You could pop it into the fridge to speed up the process, if you like, especially on a warm day.
Key ingredients in this easy no-bake caramel slice recipe
Plain sweet biscuits are ideal for this recipe, such as Marie, Milk Arrowroot and Nice. Sweetened condensed milk, butter, brown sugar and golden syrup combine to make the sticky caramel that also binds all the biscuit crumbs together.
