Ingredients

  • 500g lamb fillets thinly sliced
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tbs oil

Marinade

  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tbs garlic crushed

Sauce

  • 2 tbs water
  • 1 tbs chilli sauce
  • 1 tbs hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger chopped

Method

  • Step 1
    Combine marinade ingredients, then add the lamb and allow to stand in the fridge for two hours.
  • Step 2
    In a wok or frypan, heat oil and fry onions.

    Add meat and stir-fry.
  • Step 4
    Add sauce and warm thoroughly.
  • Step 5
    Serve on a bed of rice or noodles.

Equipment

  • 1 wok
Recipe Notes

Use lamb fillets or eye of loin.

If you're in a hurry, you don't have to marinate the meat you could just leave it for 5-10 minutes.

This can also be done on the barbecue.
