A healthy version of this yummy classic.
Ingredients
- 500 g minced pork sausage
- 500 g pork and veal mince
- 1 carrot grated
- 1 zucchini grated
- 3/4 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 onion chopped
- 3 tbs tomato sauce
- 3 tbs barbecue sauce
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic minced optional
- 2 egg
- 6 sheets puff pastry
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C.

Step 2Grease three oven trays and line with baking paper.

Step 3Combine sausage and mince with grated carrot, zucchini, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, oregano, sauces and 1 egg in a large bowl and mix together by hand.

Step 4Thaw pastry and cut each sheet in half. Place mince mixture along the middle and roll up. Cut each roll into five pieces.

Step 5Whisk remaining egg in a bowl and brush top of rolls. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Recipe Notes
I make a batch to freeze so there is always some on hand. Line a container with baking paper. Layer the uncooked rolls in a single layer and then top with a piece of baking paper. Layer more rolls and baking paper until you are finished. When you need some just pull them out, pop them in the oven to cook.
