Ingredients

  • 125 g butter
  • 2 tbs honey
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tbs boiling water
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 120 g chocolate

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 160C. Grease and line a 20 cm square cake pan extending paper over the edges.
  • Step 2
    Melt butter and honey over medium heat, stirring until butter is hot. Remove from heat and stir in bicarbonate of soda and water. Mixture will become frothy.
  • Step 3
    Combine caster sugar, coconut, flour, oats and Chokito bar in a large bowl, mix well. Add butter mixture and stir until combined.
  • Step 4
    Press mixture into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool in pan before cutting.

Equipment

  • 1 20cm square loose base cake pan
Recipe Notes
Use Nestle Chokito bars, or chocolate bars of choice.
