A yummy, chewy slice that is quick and easy to make. Kids love it in their lunch boxes!
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup desiccated coconut
- 125 g butter
- 1/3 cup golden syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 170C (150C fan-forced). Line a slice pan with baking paper with sides extending over long sides.

Step 2Combine flour, oats and coconut in a large bowl, making a well in the centre.

Step 3Combine butter, golden syrup and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Stir over a medium heat until butter melts and mixture is smooth.

Step 4Add the bicarbonate of soda and stir to combine.

Step 5Pour wet mixture over dry ingredients and stir until evenly combined.

Step 6Spread into prepared pan and smooth with the back of a spoon.

Step 7Bake for 20 minutes. Cool in the pan.

Step 8Lift out using the paper and cut into 20 bars. Keep in an airtight container.
