Ingredients

  • 7 sausage
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 carrot roughly chopped
  • 2 potato roughly chopped
  • 310 g canned corn drained rinsed
  • 310 g canned peas drained rinsed
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 30 g vegetable soup mix
  • 400 g canned diced tomato
  • 2 tbs barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbs gravy powder

Method

  • Step 1
    Gently brown sausages in a frypan. Allow to cool a little, then cut into chunks with a sharp knife.
  • Step 2
    In a slow cooker or pot, add carrots, potatoes, corn, peas, tomatoes, celery, and soup mix.

    Stir in sausages.
  • Step 4
    In a small dish, combine the sauces then add to the pot.
  • Step 5
    Add just enough water to cover and mix thoroughly.
  • Step 6
    Cook in slow cooker on auto or low for 6-8 hours, or simmer on stove top until cooked through, adding extra water if required.
  • Step 7
    Thicken to taste with gravy mix before serving.
  • Step 8
    Serve on toasted half rolls or chunky toast.
Recipe Notes

I did not season this stew last time I made it, as I found the ingredients supply enough as is. I prefer to use spring vegetable soup mix.
