Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tbs custard powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence *to taste
  • 400 g condensed milk
  • 4 cups low-fat milk

Method

  • Step 1
    Beat eggs and custard powder together until smooth and well-blended.
  • Step 2
    Add vanilla and condensed milk, then mix well.

  • Step 3
    Add milk and stir constantly, bring to the boil until thickened, then remove from heat.
Recipe Notes

I also give it a bit of a whizz with the stick blender for a really creamy consistency after cooking. This makes a nice thickish custard so use more or less powder for your desired consistency.
