Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 garlic clove diced
  • 500 g beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbs curry powder

Gravy

  • 2 tbs tomato paste
  • 2 beef stock cube
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 tbs fruit chutney
  • 2 cup water
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 2 tbs water

Method

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in a large heavy based frying pan.
  • Step 2
    Cook onion and garlic until brown.
  • Step 3
    Remove from pan and combine with mince, egg, sauce, and salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Roll into small meatballs.
  • Step 5
    Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Step 6
    Heat extra oil in same frying pan.
  • Step 7
    Fry meatballs until well browned.
  • Step 8
    Sprinkle over curry and cook for a further minute.
  • Step 9
    Add gravy ingredients, except cornflour.
  • Step 10
    Cook gently for 30 minutes.
  • Step 11
    Thicken gravy with cornflour dissolved in 2 tablespoons water.
Recipe Notes
Serve with boiled rice. Use any kind of stock.
