Ingredients

  • 300 g diced pork
  • 150 g stir-fry vegetables
  • 2 tbs sweet and sour sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 3/4 tbs gravy powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt and pepper *to taste
  • 2/3 cup plain flour
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 2/3 cup milk

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 210C (180C fan forced).
  • Step 2
    Cook meat for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add vegetables and cook for a further 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add parsley, sauce, gravy and salt and pepper. Stir through and simmer 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Meanwhile, make pastry by rubbing butter into flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add milk and mix.
  • Step 6
    Spoon mixture into a 2-4 L casserole dish and place pastry mix on top.
  • Step 7
    Reduce oven temperature to 180C (160C fan forced) and bake for 15 minutes or until pastry has browned on top.

Recipe Notes
I have used pork off cuts and diced to 2 cm cubes when diced pork unavailable. You could freeze the filling and use in a pie maker on demand. Use sauce of choice e.g. sweet and sour, plum, soy and butter or margarine.
