This recipe uses natural ingredients that are nutritious to satisfy that sweet craving we all experience at some point. They are gluten free and contain no refined sugars (depending upon the type of dark chocolate used) Great as a snack.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
- 4 tbs pure maple syrup
- 4 tbs water
- 1/3 cup desiccated coconut
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 3/4 cup almond meal
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 100 g dark chocolate roughly chopped
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2Mix together peanut butter, maple syrup and water in a bowl.

Step 3Combine all other ingredients in a separate bowl. Add peanut butter mixture to dry ingredients and mix until ingredients form a soft dough. Add more water if needed.

Step 4Use wet hands to roll mixture into small balls and then flatten onto baking tray to form biscuit shape.

Step 5Bake in oven for 12-15 minutes. Allow to cool on tray.

I like to use organic peanut butter and natural vanilla essence.
