This is always a winner with guests. It's slightly spicy and can last in the fridge for days - just cover with some GLAD wrap. - missmmm

Ingredients

  • 250 g veal mince
  • 250 g beef mince
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 handful pecorino cheese *to taste
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
  • 1 cup parmesan
  • 1 L passata
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 handful basil fresh

Method

  • Step 1
    Mince all ingredients except the last 3 with your hands and then roll into bite-sized balls
  • Step 2
    For the sauce: lightly sauté the finely chopped onion, then and add the tomato sauce.
  • Step 3
    Pop the meatballs in the sauce, sprinkle with basil and simmer for 45 minutes.
Recipe Notes

Soak bread, then squeeze out moisture.

Make some pappardelle pasta to serve, along with some crunchy bread to soak up the juices.
