Recipe for simple homemade ice cream, no ice cream maker necessary. Sets overnight in the freezer.
Ingredients
- 600 ml cream
- 395 g condensed milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 60 g milk chocolate chips
Method

Step 1Combine cream, condensed milk and vanilla essence in a large mixing bowl. Use an electric beater on high speed to beat until cream thickens.

Step 2Using a spoon, stir through chocolate until well mixed through.

Step 3Pour into a dish suitable for freezing, leave in freezer overnight.
Recipe Notes
This can be made into an ice-cream cake using a springform tin.
Cover the base of the tin with cream mixture, then cover with a generous amount of Ice-Magic. Cover this with more cream mixture, continue until all cream mixture is used.
For an adults only treat, add ¼ cup of Kahlua to the cream mixture before beating.
Use chocolate bars of choice, chopped into small pieces, or chocolate chips or small marshmallows. This is delicious with a honeycomb chocolate bar such as Violet Crumble.
I made another version recently for my daughter's birthday and added a packet of McCains frozen mixed fruit instead of the chocolate - delicious!
