Ingredients

  • 45 g butter
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic clove crushed
  • 1 pinch seasoning *to taste
  • 30 g plain flour
  • 280 ml milk
  • 8 potato cooked peeled
  • 125 ml white wine

Method

  • Step 1
    Melt 15 g of the butter in a pan. Add the chopped onions and cook gently until soft and golden.
  • Step 2
    Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Step 3
    Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the wine, turn up the heat and reduce the volume by about half. Remove from heat.
  • Step 4
    In another pan melt the remaining 30 g of butter. Add the flour, stir and cook for about five minutes.
  • Step 5
    Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly.
  • Step 6
    Mix in the onion and garlic mixture.
  • Step 7
    Mash potatoes like you usually would, using the sauce instead of milk and butter.
