Ingredients

  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 500 g stewing veal chops
  • 6 potato medium peeled thinly sliced
  • 6 tomato chopped cored cored just ripe
  • 135 g Dutch curry and rice soup mix
  • 1 onion diced large
  • 3/4 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbs tomato paste

Method

  • Step 1
    Heat olive oil and fry onion in a large electric frypan.
  • Step 2
    Add the veal in batches and brown.
  • Step 3
    Add in a cup of water with the contents of the soup packet.
  • Step 4
    Add tomatoes, potatoes and peas.
  • Step 5
    Make sure there is enough water in the frying pan so it looks a bit soupy. If not, add more water.
  • Step 6
    Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of tomato paste to add colour, thicken and add flavour.
  • Step 7
    Leave bubbling away at a low heat with the lid on until the potatoes are cooked through. Stir occasionally.
