Very easily and quickly, prepared dish. If you don't have a tagine, a tightly fitted lid casserole dish will work well. - cookygirl

Ingredients

  • 4 thick pork cutlets
  • 2 onions large sliced
  • 2 apples sliced
  • 1 tbs ras el hanout
  • 1 tsp ground cumin *optional
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 tbs oil

Method

  • Step 1
    In casserole dish, heat oil, add onions stirring constantly until they start to soften and brown.

  • Step 2
    Top with pork cutlets, and season to taste.
  • Step 3
    Cover with apples and sprinkle liberally with spices, to taste.
  • Step 4
    Sprinkle with lemon juice.
  • Step 5
    Cover, simmer gently for approximately 40-60 minutes, or until pork is tender. It should be just about falling off the bone.

Recipe Notes

I prefer to use cooking apple.
