Steamed Ginger and Garlic Chicken with Sesame Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breast fillet skin off
  • 2 tbs fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbs sesame seeds toasted
  • 3 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tbs crushed garlic
  • 1/2 tbs chilli crushed
  • 2 cup Asian stir-fry vegetables
  • 1/2 tbs sesame seeds toasted

Method

  • Step 1
    Cover chicken breasts in ginger, garlic, chilli and soy sauce and wrap in a foil cocoon.
  • Step 2
    Place two tiered bamboo steamer into a fry pan filled with boiling water.
  • Step 3
    Place wrapped chicken into the bottom tier of the steamer.
  • Step 4
    Steam for 5 minutes
  • Step 5
    After the chicken has started to cook, scatter the vegetables with the toasted sesame seeds in the top tier of the steamer.
  • Step 6
    Steam for approximately 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked and vegetables are slightly softened.
  • Step 7
    Remove chicken from foil, being careful not to lose any juice, and slice into approximately 1.5 cm slices.
  • Step 8
    Place vegetables on a plate and cover with juice from chicken cocoon.
  • Step 9
    Place chicken slices on top of vegetables and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
