Really easy aromatic spare ribs recipe. Vary the quantities to suit. I use Pink Lady apples because they are firm and slightly acidic as well as sweet.
Ingredients
- 600 g spare pork ribs
- 4 pink lady apple cored cored peeled quartered small
- 3 tbs honey
- 3 tbs dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cinnamon stick optional
Method

Step 1Place all ingredients in slow cooker.

Step 2Cook on low for approximately 8 hours. Check after 6 hours to see if a little more water is needed.

Step 3Serve hot with a plain accompaniment such as boiled rice.

Recipe Notes
Serving with a green vegetable or a green salad is nice - curly endive is nice. I make this without added salt. Maille mustard works well, and it contains salt anyway. The apples are best slightly underripe and you can use a similar firm eating apple to Pink Lady. Use 4 small or 3 large Pink Lady apples. Spare ribs are fatty but this recipe uses a relatively small amount per person. Good on a cold wintry day.
