Ingredients

  • 10 sausage
  • 1 1/2 cup white rice
  • 2 tsp chicken stock powder
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges *to serve
  • 1 cup sour cream *to serve

Method

  • Step 1
    Brown sausages over medium heat in a large, deep frying pan.
  • Step 2
    Remove sausages and slice into chunks, return to pan.
  • Step 3
    Add remaining ingredients except lemon and sour cream.
  • Step 4
    Bring to the boil then move to the smallest burner on the lowest possible setting.
  • Step 5
    Cook covered, stirring occasionally for approximately 10 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  • Step 6
    Allow to stand 5 minutes before serving with a dollop of sour cream and a squeeze of lemon.
Recipe Notes
Try adding some crushed chilli with the sour cream and stir through for a change! I used beef sausage and frozen mixed peas, corn, carrots.
