A very simple saffron rice recipe to accompany meat or vegetable dishes.
Ingredients
- 8 saffron threads
- 3 tbs boiling water
- 25 g butter
- 1 1/2 cup basmati rice
- 4 cups vegetable stock. hot
- 1 pinch salt *to taste
Method

Step 1Add boiling water to saffron threads.

Step 2Melt butter and stir in rice.

Step 3Add saffron with water, stock and salt to the rice.

Step 4Bring to the boil and then simmer for about 15 minutes, until the liquid has evaporated and the rice is cooked through.
Recipe Notes
You can use hot chicken stock instead of vegetable stock.
