This recipe gives you a good reason to get out the old pressure cooker again. It is simple and delicious and will hit the spot when you serve it up.
Ingredients
- 900 g chuck beef steak, cut into pieces
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 cup beef stock (liquid)
- 2 carrot cut into slices
- 3 bacon rashers chopped
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 225 g button mushrooms
- 2 tbs plain flour
- 2 garlic clove crushed
Method

Step 1Fry the bacon in the pressure cooker for 5 minutes.

Step 2Add the onion and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 3Add the chuck steak and brown for 5 minutes.

Step 4Add the flour and mix it in well.

Step 5Add the wine, beef stock, thyme, salt and pepper and stir.

Step 6Close the lid and, once it has reached pressure, cook for 20 minutes.

Step 7Carefully release the pressure and open the lid.

Step 8Add the carrots and mushrooms and stir.

Step 9Close the lid and, once it has reached pressure, cook for 5 minutes.
