Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 125 g butter melted
  • 395 ml condensed milk
  • 1 can passionfruit pulp
  • 1/2 lemon juiced

Method

  • Step 1
    Mix flour, sugar and coconut together.

    Add melted butter and mix well.
  • Step 3
    Press mixture into a 20cm x 30cm slice tin lined with baking paper.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 170C for 13 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Remove from oven and pat down gently with the back of a spoon to make level.
  • Step 6
    Spread combined condensed milk, passionfruit and lemon juice over cooked base and return to oven for 15 minutes.
Recipe Notes

You can use a bit less sugar if desired.

Editor's note: to make passionfruit sauce like the Best Recipes team, you'll need: 4 passionfruit, 1/2 cup caster sugar and 1/2 cup water.

To make the sauce: place the passionfruit pulp, sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally or until mixture comes to the boil. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until thickened slightly. Set aside and allow to cool. Spoon over slice when ready to serve.
