I had one son who didn't like tomatoes, he was happy for me to put some cooked meatballs aside and he would have them on pasta with cheese sprinkled on top.
Ingredients
- 500 g beef mince
- 850 g canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 onions
- 1 cup cheddar cheese grated
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 seasoning
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf large
- 1 tbs tomato paste
Method

Step 1Mix meat, cheese, 1 finely chopped onion and breadcrumbs together.

Step 2Roll into 40 walnut-sized meatballs.

Step 3Put paper towel on turntable of microwave and put meatballs on outer edge of plate in circle.

Step 4Cook for approximately 6 minutes, on high.

Step 5In a large saucepan fry chopped onion with garlic until onion starts to cook.

Step 6Add remaining ingredients.

Step 7Bring to the boil, stir, then simmer with cooked meatballs for about 25 minutes.

Step 8Remove bay leaf before serving and sprinkle with extra grated cheese or parmesan to serve.
