Great side dish for red meat or chicken. This dish is vegan friendly.
Ingredients
- 3 garlic cloves thinly sliced
- 200 g fresh green beans trimmed
- 40 g butter
- 100 g slivered almonds
Method

Step 1Melt butter over moderate heat, add beans and garlic.

Step 2Cook for 7-10 minutes on a low heat, stirring occasionally to coat the beans in butter.

Step 3Add almonds to a non stick pan and toast to a light brown colour.

Step 4Once beans are cooked stir in toasted almonds and serve.

Use Nuttelex for the vegan/dairy and gluten free option.
You can increase or decrease the amount of ingredients depending on how many people you need to feed. For big dinner parties I use the large packets of beans found at Aldi. For a more even toast, toast almonds in the oven. However I find toasting the almonds in a saucepan on the stove gives great textures as some almonds will be less toasted than others.
