Great to have with your favourite curry instead of plain rice.
Ingredients
- 2 cup basmati rice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5 (pods) cardamom
- 5 whole cloves
- 2 tsp chicken stock powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbs oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp saffron threads
Method

Step 1Wash rice until water runs clear.

Step 2In a ceramic dish add rice and all the other ingredients. Combine until the rice is coated and yellow.

Step 3For every cup of rice add 1½ cups of water.

Step 4Cook rice in microwave for 10 minutes or until cooked.

Step 5Once rice is cooked, remove cardamom pods, cloves, bay leaf and cinnamon quill.

Step 6Serve with curry of choice.

Use however much you would normally make to go with a curry.
