Sausage rolls with chorizo and mild spicy in flavour; they're idiot-proof!
Ingredients
- 375 g mild chorizo sausage roughly chopped
- 500 g beef mince
- 500 g sausage mince
- 2 carrot peeled small
- 2 onion roughly chopped small
- 3 cloves garlic skin off
- 1 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 2 Massel* beef stock cube
- 6 sheets puff pastry
Glaze
- 1 egg
- 1 tbs milk

Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 210C (190C fan forced). Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.

Step 2Blend carrot, onion, chorizo and garlic in food processor till fine. Transfer mixture to a large mixing bowl.

Step 3In a separate bowl crumble stock cubes and mix together with breadcrumbs, add to blended mixture. Add meat to mixture and knead to combine.

Step 4Cut each sheet of pasty in 1/2 and lay out on bench.

Step 5Divide meat mixture into 12 sausage shapes.

Step 6Lay each sausage lengthways on pastry. Roll each into sausage roll using water to seal on bottom. Cut each roll in 1/2.

Step 7For glaze: beat egg and milk together.

Step 8Transfer sausage rolls to baking tray lined with baking paper. Glaze each roll with egg and milk mixture.

Step 9Put trays in middle of preheated oven and cook for around 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Recipe Notes
You will need to cook in at least 2 batches.
You might need to swap trays around 1/2 way through cooking.
