Ingredients

  • 185 g dark chocolate
  • 125 g butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup walnuts chopped

Method

  • Step 1
    Grease a deep 20 cm square cake pan, and line the base with baking paper.
  • Step 2
    Melt chocolate and butter together in a saucepan over low heat, and stir in sugar and eggs one at a time.

  • Step 3
    Beat well with a wooden spoon, then stir in sifted flour and walnuts.
  • Step 4
    Pour into prepared cake tin and bake in a moderate oven for about 25 minutes. Cool in pan.
  • Step 5
    Remove slice from pan, sprinkle with icing sugar when cooled and cut into squares.

  • 1 wooden spoon
Recipe Notes

It does taste better with the nuts, but they can be omitted.
