A lovely, moist chocolate slice. You can also substitute cherries with prunes.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup cherries chopped
- 100 g butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbs cocoa
- 2 tbs golden syrup
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 1 tsp lemon rind
- 1/2 cup choc bits
Method

Step 1Grease and line a lamington pan.

Step 2Heat butter, sugar, cocoa and syrup in a saucepan over low heat until combined. Allow to cool.

Step 3Once cool add remaining ingredients and spread evenly in tin.

Step 4Bake for approximately 25 minutes at 180C.

Step 5Allow to cool in pan before cutting. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
