A delicious and simple variation of baked chicken with lovely flavours. We still ask mum to make this for us 30 years after she first made it!
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 2 tbs French mustard
- 250 ml sour cream
- 1 cup dried breadcrumbs
- 2 tbs butter melted
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 190C.

Step 2Grease and line a baking dish.

Step 3Wipe the chicken dry with paper towel then coat with salt and pepper seasoned flour.

Step 4Spread French mustard then sour cream over both sides of the chicken. Do not coat too thickly.

Step 5Coat the chicken in breadcrumbs and set aside for 15 minutes.

Step 6Drizzle butter over the crumbed chicken and bake for approximately 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Recipe Notes
Season the flour with salt and pepper.
There is no need to turn the chicken during cooking.
Light sour cream can be used. Perfect served with roast vegetables.
