Ingredients

  • 300 g plain flour
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 250 g soft butter
  • 1 egg yolks
  • 100 ml cream
  • 200 g slivered almonds

Method

  • Step 1
    Mix the flour, 100 g sugar, vanilla, 200 g butter and egg yolk.
  • Step 2
    Roll out on a baking tray covered with baking paper and pierce.
  • Step 3
    Bring cream, 50 g butter, 150 g sugar and the almonds to the boil, stirring constantly.
  • Step 4
    Pour onto dough.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 180C for about 25 minutes.
  • Step 6
    While warm, cut into squares with an oiled knife.
