There should be a warning to go with this as it is very hard to stop eating.
Ingredients
- 300 g plain flour
- 250 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 250 g soft butter
- 1 egg yolks
- 100 ml cream
- 200 g slivered almonds
Method

Step 1Mix the flour, 100 g sugar, vanilla, 200 g butter and egg yolk.

Step 2Roll out on a baking tray covered with baking paper and pierce.

Step 3Bring cream, 50 g butter, 150 g sugar and the almonds to the boil, stirring constantly.

Step 4Pour onto dough.

Step 5Bake at 180C for about 25 minutes.

Step 6While warm, cut into squares with an oiled knife.
