A scrumptious slice using a favourite combination of honey and almonds.
Ingredients
- 90 g butter melted
- 100 g brown sugar firmly packed
- 1 cup plain flour
- 60 g almond meal
Topping
- 125 g butter
- 60 g honey
- 210 g slivered almonds
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 170C.

Step 2Mix all base ingredients in a small bowl until well mixed.

Step 3Place in a greased 20 cm x 30 cm slice pan.

Step 4Bake for approximately 12 minutes until golden.

Step 5Allow to cool.

Step 6Topping: Place the honey and butter in a small saucepan and stir until the butter has completely melted.

Step 7Simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes until the mixture is a light caramel colour and then add the slivered almonds.

Step 8Spread hot topping evenly on the cooled base and bake at 170C for approximately 15 minutes until brown.

Step 9Cool in the pan and then cut.
