Ingredients

  • 125 g margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbs golden syrup
  • 2 egg
  • 2 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp mixed spice
  • 3/4 cup currants

Method

  • Step 1
    Cream margarine, sugar and golden syrup together.
  • Step 2
    Beat in eggs.
  • Step 3
    Add currants.
  • Step 4
    Mix in sifted flour and mixed spice.
  • Step 5
    Roll into balls and dip into sugar.
  • Step 6
    Place on baking tray and press down with fork.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 180C for 15-20 minutes.
