Ingredients

  • 2 tsp orange zested
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbs orange juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 (pods) cardamom
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 6 pear cored cored firm peeled quartered

Method

  • Step 1
    Place zest, water, orange juice, sugar, cranberries, cinnamon stick, cardamom pod and cloves in a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes until syrupy.
  • Step 2
    Add pears, cover and simmer for 3-5 minutes or until just tender.
  • Step 3
    Cool and remove cinnamon stick, cardamom pod and cloves before serving.

  • 1 saucepan
Recipe Notes
Best served at room temperature. Accompany with your favourite topping. I like plain yoghurt as the tang of the yoghurt complements the pears beautifully.
