Ingredients

  • 4 potato large
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup cheese grated
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Method

  • Step 1
    Place cheese, egg and flour into a mixing bowl and make into a thick batter with the milk.
  • Step 2
    Peel potatoes and slice into fritters about 1 cm thick.
  • Step 3
    Parboil in a saucepan of water until almost cooked. Drain on kitchen paper.
  • Step 4
    Dip potatoes into the stirred batter mixture and drop into hot oil in an electric frypan, until golden brown.
  • Step 5
    Serve salted and hot.

Recipe Notes
Serve with fish, bacon and eggs or on their own.
