A low fat substitute to ice-cream that is so refreshing.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 orange rind
- 2 2/3 cup orange juice fresh
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
Method

Step 1Combine water, sugar and orange rind in a saucepan.

Step 2Stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.

Step 3Remove rind and let cool.

Step 4Add orange and lemon juice and place in refrigerator until cold.

Step 5Turn ice-cream machine on and pour into machine and let churn for 25 minutes or until sorbet consistency.

Step 6Pour into plastic container and seal.

Step 7Let freeze for 1 hour before serving.

Recipe Notes
If you have an excess of oranges this is a great recipe. I used about 3kg to get the required juice and I used grapefruit juice instead of the lemon juice. This sorbet is addictive and we loved it. Scrape orange rind strips from 2 oranges.
