Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 orange rind
  • 2 2/3 cup orange juice fresh
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice

Method

  • Step 1
    Combine water, sugar and orange rind in a saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove rind and let cool.
  • Step 4
    Add orange and lemon juice and place in refrigerator until cold.
  • Step 5
    Turn ice-cream machine on and pour into machine and let churn for 25 minutes or until sorbet consistency.
  • Step 6
    Pour into plastic container and seal.
  • Step 7
    Let freeze for 1 hour before serving.

Recipe Notes
If you have an excess of oranges this is a great recipe. I used about 3kg to get the required juice and I used grapefruit juice instead of the lemon juice. This sorbet is addictive and we loved it. Scrape orange rind strips from 2 oranges.
