Ingredients

  • 400 g condensed milk
  • 125 g butter chopped
  • 1 tbs liquid glucose
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbs golden syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

  • Step 1
    Place condensed milk, butter, glucose, sugar and golden syrup into a large microwave safe bowl and mix well.
  • Step 2
    Cook on high for 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Cook for a further 10 minutes on medium high, stirring every 2 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add vanilla essence and beat well.
  • Step 5
    Pour hot caramel into a greased lamington tin and refrigerate until partially set.
  • Step 6
    Remove from fridge and cut into squares.
  • Step 7
    Return to fridge to set.
Recipe Notes
Patty cases can be used, pour a little into each one and set in fridge. Place a thin layer onto a greased tray and allow to set completely in the fridge. When set crack into small pieces and use to decorate cakes etc.
