Great with spare ribs or chicken.
Ingredients
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 1 onion diced
- 4 garlic clove minced
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 bay leaf crumbled
- 425 g tomato puree
- 425 g canned whole tomatoes peeled
- 1 tbs brown sugar
- 2 tbs red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1 tbs grainy mustard
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 Tabasco *to taste
Method

Step 1Heat oil over medium heat and saute onion, garlic, rosemary and bay leaf for 5 minutes or until soft.

Step 2Blend remaining ingredients then add to the oil mixture.

Step 3Bring to boil then reduce to a simmer, leaving uncovered. Stir often for 15-25 minutes or until sauce is reduced and thickened.
Recipe Notes
Makes about 2-3 cups and tastes great on just about anything. Try some green tomatoes too. Avocado oil can be used. Fresh tomatoes can be used.
