A very yummy potato and cabbage side dish that still tastes great the next day!
Ingredients
- 1 kg potato chopped peeled
- 1/4 white cabbage shredded
- 1 cup milk
- 30 g butter
- 4 shallots chopped
- 2 middle bacon rashers chopped
Method

Step 1Place potatoes in saucepan and boil until tender.

Step 2Place milk and shallots in saucepan and boil. Remove from heat.

Step 3Mash potatoes and add hot milk mix.

Step 4Whisk using wooden spoon to ensure smooth consistency.

Step 5Cook butter, cabbage and bacon in hot frying pan until soft.

Step 6Stir cabbage mix through mashed potato before serving.

- 1 wooden spoon
- 1 frying pan
Recipe Notes
You can always omit the bacon, this was something that I added myself. This can be served as a side dish with steak, chicken etc.
