Chunks of chocolate are scattered through this banana bread.
Ingredients
- 3 banana large ripe
- 1 lemon juiced
- 2 cup self-raising flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 150 g butter softened
- 150 g light brown sugar
- 2 egg beaten large
- 3/4 cup choc bits
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C.

Step 2Grease a 1 kg loaf tin with butter and line with greaseproof.

Step 3Mash bananas with the lemon juice in separate bowl and leave aside.

Step 4Sift flour and baking powder onto sheet of greaseproof paper.

Step 5In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together with a wooden spoon until light and creamy.

Step 6Add the eggs a little at the time, beating well after each one.

Step 7Carefully fold ½ the flour mixture into the egg mixture.

Step 8Fold in the mashed bananas, then the remaining flour mixture and the chocolate chips. Pour into loaf tin and level.

Step 9Bake for 1 hour. Leave to cool in tin for about 10 minutes before turning out onto rack.

Recipe Notes
If you have no choc chips then grate some chocolate roughly.
