Vegetarian dish. It is also very nice served as a side dish to a main meal.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup cheddar cheese grated
- 4 egg beaten well
- 1/4 cup milk
- 60 g margarine melted
- 1 onion medium
- 2 potato medium
- 1 carrot small
- 1 zucchini medium
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 175C.

Step 2Lightly grease a casserole dish.

Step 3Sift flour and salt into a large bowl. Stir in cheese, eggs, milk, and melted margarine.

Step 4Grate onion, carrot and potato into the mixture.

Step 5Stir to combine.

Step 6Pour mixture into casserole dish and place casserole in a pan of water containing 2 cm of water.

Step 7Bake in oven, uncovered for 1½ hours.

Recipe Notes
This dish is also very nice served with an onion gravy. Cottage cheese can be used. Carrot can be substituted with parsnip or choko.
