A great cinnamon bun that's easily made in the breadmaker.

- 2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 90 g butter softened
Icing

- 60 g butter softened
- 220 g icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/2 tsp salt
Method
-
Step 1Place dough ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle, press start.
-
Step 2Turn dough out on a lightly floured board, cover and let rest 10 minutes.
-
Step 3In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
-
Step 4Roll dough into a 45 cm x 50 cm rectangle, spread with butter and cover evenly with sugar and cinnamon mixture.
-
Step 5Roll dough up and cut into even pieces.
-
Step 6Place buns in a lightly greased 23 cm x 33 cm baking dish, cover and let rise until doubled in size, approximately 30 minutes.
-
Step 7Bake at 200C for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
-
Step 8While buns are cooking prepare icing by mixing all the ingredients together.
-
Step 9Spread icing on warm rolls.
Recipe Notes
I tend not to use the icing as if you flip them over as soon as you take them out of the oven, the cinnamon and butter covers them and there is no need for the icing. Also the unbaked roll freezes well. Put the frozen buns in the baking dish into the fridge the night before they are required. In the morning they are ready for the oven.
