Delicious moist apple cake.
Ingredients
- 225 g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 100 g butter
- 100 g soft brown sugar
- 2 apple large
- 2 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 25 g granulated sugar
Method

Step 1Sift flour with baking powder and pinch of salt into a large bowl.

Step 2Rub in the butter until mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the brown sugar.

Step 3Peel, core and grate the apples until you have 175 g, add grated apple to the bowl.

Step 4Make a well in the centre of the mixture, add beaten eggs with enough milk to make mixture a soft dropping consistency.

Step 5Pour the mixture into a greased and lined 18 cm round cake pan and smooth top.

Step 6Sprinkle with the granulated sugar and bake approximately 1 hour in at 190C or until the cake is golden brown and well risen.

Recipe Notes
This is a deliciously moist cake and a big hit. I prefer to use cooking apple.
