What you’ll need

  • Packet of pre-made fondant
  • Gel food colour
  • Toothpick

Step 1

Start by kneading the fondant until smooth. Dip the toothpick into the colour, then prick the colour through the fondant. Start with a small amount of colour to ensure you get the colour you’re after.

Step 2

Massage the colour through the fondant, ensuring there are no streaks before adding more colour. If you’re adding a lot of colour to the fondant, use food-safe gloves to prevent your hands from staining. Once you’ve reached the desired colour, immediately use the fondant. Otherwise, tightly wrap the fondant in plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out and discolouring.
