Congratulations to our Home Cook Hero winner Jessica (jessicaholmes) with her recipe for Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream Pie! She has won $1,000 and her recipe will be published in an upcoming issue of Super Food Ideas magazine.

Jessica's dessert has three of our favourite things: no-bake, fuss free preparation and chocolate overload. Jessica says the crunchy Oreo base is the star of the show, but we couldn't resist the homemade ice-cream. It's so delicious we think you'll never buy supermarket cookies and cream ice-cream again!  

We asked Jessica why she loves to make this recipe: "Living in Brisbane, we can eat ice-cream all year round! The judges other favourite recipes were: 

  • 15 Minute Ferrero Rocher and Nutella Cheesecake by Zamamabakes – With a 5-star rating by our home cooks we knew we had to sample this chocolate delight. Shazzah said "Yum! The base is delicious. So easy to make and very chocolatey. Will definitely make again."
  • Chocolate and Marshmallow Tart by lukecath – Hot chocolate is given a dessert spin when marshmallow meet chocolate mousse tart. We'd love to try this in mini bite-sized tarts. 
  • Chocolate Indulgence Overload by mjrose – This gluten-free chocolate indulgent layer-cake has the "WOW!" factor with white and dark chocolate ganache, decorated with coconut truffles and almonds.
  • Chocolate Oreo Fudge by Kimatt74 – The only thing better than creamy dark chocolate fudge is fudge with Oreos.  We agree with homecook01, next time we're going to "cut it up into little pieces and eat 10!"
  • Loaded Twix Chocolate Brownie Bars by jessicaholmes – Fudgey, crunchy and with that all important crinkle-top, these brownies are a crowd-favourite. 
  • My Dad's Mousse by cakecook – This classic chocolate mousse is the perfect easy dessert to whip up for your next dinner party.
